“HK G-Share” Building and Construction Resources Sharing Platform - User Guide
Welcome and thank you for using HK G-Share Building and Construction Resources Sharing Platform! Through this e-platform, you can sell the materials left after building and construction to other contractors; or purchase the materials posted by other users on this platform. This helps fully utilise reusable items, reduce building and construction wastes.

To sell materials:

1. Register as a HK G-Share user for free

• Please click “Register” on the top right-hand corner of the website or HERE.
  
•  Fill in the information for registration.
  
•  Read the Terms and Conditions of the platform carefully and if you agree to the Terms and Conditions, please check the box in front of the sentence “By creating an account, I agree to the above Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.  I also agree that items received from this site are solely for personal use and not for commercial use.”
• Click “Sign Up”. A confirmation email with your login ID and password will be sent to your registered mailbox. The email may be classified as a spam mail. Please check your spam mailbox if you cannot receive the confirmation email.

• Please click “Login” on the top right-hand corner of the website or HERE.
• Fill in your login ID (your email address) and password as shown in the confirmation email and click “Login”.

• Click “Sell” in “My Account” or “Sell Here” on the left-hand side of the Building and Construction Resources Sharing Platform.
• Select an item category and sub-category, upload an item photo with size no bigger than 2MB; fill in item name, description, quantity and unit price. Then click “Sell”.
• The information of your materials for sale will then be submitted. The administrator will approve your materials as soon as possible.
• You can always manage your material(s) for sale under “Materials for Sale” in “My Account”.

• If a buyer is interested in your materials, he / she will contact you through item request, private messages or comments on wall.
• If you receive purchase request(s) for your materials, you can view the rating of the buyer(s) under “Materials for Sale” in “My Account”, and whose item purchase request is to be accepted.
• After accepting the item purchase request, please liaise with the buyer for the pick-up arrangement.

• After the pick-up, please be reminded to change the status of the materials for sale to “Transaction Completed” under “Materials for Sale” in “My Account”. Please do rate and comment on the buyer. Rating and comments can act as references to other sellers to determine if the buyer is a rogue user.
• If you have not sold all the materials in this transaction, and you want to keep selling them through the platform, you may press the button “Copy as new record” after marking the transaction as completed. A new record will be added for you to sell the remaining units of the materials for sale.

• Fill in the information for registration.
• Read the Terms and Conditions carefully and if you agree to the Terms and Conditions, please check the box in front of the sentence “By creating an account, I agree to the above Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. • Click “Sign Up”. A confirmation email with your login ID and password will be sent to your registered mailbox. The email may be classified as a spam mail. Please check your spam mailbox if you cannot receive the confirmation email. 

• Please click “Login” on the top right-hand corner or HERE.
• Fill in your login ID (your email address) and password as shown in the confirmation email and click “Login”.  

• To find reusable materials by category: click on the categories and sub-categories of the items on the Building and Construction Resources Sharing Platform on the left-hand side of the website.
• To find reusable materials by keyword(s): enter the keyword(s) in the search box on the left-hand side of the website, then click the adjacent “magnifying glass” icon.

• Click “Request” on the page of the materials that you want to purchase.
• Your purchase request will be shown in seller’s account.
• You may always manage your requested material(s), send private messages, or delete request(s) under “Requested Items” in “My Account”.
• Wait for the seller to accept or reject your purchase request(s).
• After the item request is accepted, please liaise with the seller for the pick-up arrangement.

• Please do rate and comment on the seller after the pick-up. Rating and comments can act as references to other buyers to determine if the seller is a rogue user.

• Items that violate the laws of Hong Kong are restricted on this platform.
• Restrictions also apply to but are not limited to the following: electrical products without valid Certificates of Safety Compliance, counterfeit items, infringing/ unauthorised copies/ items, alcohol and wine, food and drink, animals and wildlife products, credit cards, calling cards, drug or drug-like substances, prescription drugs, obscene/ indecent articles including those violent materials, firearms, weapons and knives, cars and vehicles, all uniforms, human parts and remains, real estate and tobacco.
• The Hong Kong Green Building Council Limited (HKGBC) reserves the right to remove the user's comments, suspend the user's account or take any legal action without prior notice if the user violates the above rules.
